It’s amazing what a
team can do in a day ...
As part of a one-day offsite, we were recently asked by a new Head of
Sales to work with him and his team of fifteen, currently split
geographically, to identify the best structure for the department. We
thought a day wouldn’t be long enough, but sales people like a fast pace:
so we did some collaborative team exercises and some competitive team
exercises (very revealing!), drew the organisation, took a decision on the
structure, and decided what we wanted to take forward into the new
organisation. And we were finished by 4.30pm!
The
mind boggles ...
A professional body we belong to, decided recently to elect its
officers in a new way. They meant to say that the new method would consist
of casting votes in confidence, rather than by show of hands. However,
what they actually said sounded much more fun. Elections would be
conducted ‘by secret ballet’ ... |
