Confidence
training: more on Finding Your Voice
Self confidence equals success. We recently started working with
Jacqui Crago from the Oxford School of Drama, to coach individuals and
groups to gain in confidence by developing a clearer voice and a stronger
presence. Our first contracts, piloted with call centres in the UK, have
proved to be extremely successful. Next stop India?
Joined
up working: bringing client and contractor teams together
Our work with senior project managers in Thales Electronics has led to
a joint contract with Thales and BAE to bring together teams from both
organisations – each forming a link in the complex supply chain.
Bill
Krouwel devised an outdoor exercise to simulate some of the communication
challenges that the teams face. The high point was the construction and
launch of a model frigate on the river Windrush. The model floated
perfectly but the swans were very puzzled! |
Training
facilitators: passing on ‘The Knowledge’
Facilitation is a major part of our work and Sheena enjoyed the chance
to pass on her experience when she recently ran an Advanced Facilitation
Skills programme. Client feedback after the course was that it had dual
benefits, improving the way participants run meetings as well as their
whole management style and effectiveness.
Post-course
support: Action Learning Groups
We have written before about the value of
360° feedback in preparing
participants for a programme. But post-course support and follow-up are
just as important. Simon has just finished facilitating a programme where
the residential module was followed, at regular intervals, by four Action
Learning meetings. It was the support provided in these groups that gave
the participants the confidence, as one put it, “to benefit in practice
from what I learned on the course”.

So who are K2
anyway?
For those who don’t know us, K2 was set up by Simon and
Sheena Loveday
seven years ago. We see ourselves as ‘The small business with the big
network’. To which we might now add, ‘and some big-name clients’. We are
definitely a lot more than just a pair of old trainers! |
